In 1995 Longest Night Artistic Director Daniel Janke created the first Longest Night as a co-production with the Yukon International Storytelling Festival. Since then Longest Night Society has produced our annual event on the winter solstice (December 20th and 21st). The variety show format has featured local, national and international performers and musicians.

Longest Night has produced Radio Works a series of contemporary pieces for radio, a CD entitled not too DARK and the short film The Lottery Ticket. The Lottery Ticket screened on Bravo!Television at the Moving Pictures Festival in Toronto, and won Best Indie Comedy Award at the Niagra International Short Film Festival.
